Precise Airconditioning always promotes the use of Ozone friendly gases and can offer a full range of equipment with these gases as an option.

We can also retrofit existing equipment with new gases (subject to suitability).

Case study to Change to ODP Gases

In the case of a major failure on older equipment utilizing R22 refrigerant, such as a compressor seizure or a compressor burn out, the refrigerant gas will become acidic and will require safe and professional removal and disposal. In a case such as this we can recommend a change of refrigerant gas to a new CFC alternative. In some cases this can be a straight drop in "refrigerant replacement" or in other applications, this may require the oil in the compressor to be changed.

If for example, the original oil is Mineral based and needs to be changed to polyester oil. This can become a very expensive option sometimes outweighing the cost of a new unit. We will always give costs and best value options. In many cases regular Maintenance will, on an existing unit make sure leaks are avoided and gases will not escape to the atmosphere. If works are to be undertaken on an open system a refrigerant reclaim machine is always used and the gas reused where possible.
